Wendell's notes

I've packed the SCUBA gear, dive knives, pony bottle and all of the other necessities. Hawaiian gun laws are rather strict, so we've agreed to leave all our firearms at home. I certainly hope that we don't encounter any "difficult situations."
We were able to get a very good rate on our tickets to Kauai, though I can't say I've ever heard of the airline. According to the ticket jacket, "Inter Island Charters" is a "wholly owned subsidiary of Air America." I wonder if that's any relation to American Airlines?

An interesting corporate logo

Our tickets have us departing from Pier 52 in downtown Seattle - most plane flights leave from SeaTac. This is a bit curious, but given the greatly reduced rate on the tickets, I'm not complaining.

Below is a list of dive operators that we'll be checking out.

Dive Kauai
Sea Sport Divers
Sunrise Scuba
Fathom Five

I've heard about a place called "Demo Dave's Discount Dive Bunker" (recommended by the Air America agent, apparently they "worked together during the early '70s.") Demo Dave is supposed to provide excellent tours of parts of the island most tourists don't get to see.
