| Index | Wendell's notes We arrived late Saturday to the Kauai Agricultural Inspectors desk only to have Sean's digital camera seized. Apparently parts of it may contain dangerous fungi which could destroy all plant life on the island - they're testing it and we won't get it back until Tuesday afternoon, so the Sunday and Monday pages will be bereft of pictures (until we can get photographs scanned in.) We hooked up with Demo Dave's Discount Diver's Bunker and got our tanks, weights and assorted equipment (we got a great deal.) According to Dave he is "busy helping fly out the harvest at night," so we're doing afternoon dives with him. Tracy and Wendell went snorkeling on Sunday morning in the bay across from the condo. Tracy was having a bit of trouble with skills, so they retired to the pool for two hours and worked on mask clearing, snorkel clearing, affixing charges to hulls, plus inserting primers, timers and detonators into a (simulated) charge affixed to the bottom of the pool. Tracy did a great job of picking up skills and we spent the remainder of the morning snorkeling in the bay across from the condo. We saw trumpet fish, parrot fish (in a bewildering array of colors) lots of coral, convict fish, angel fish and a moorish idol fish. Sunday afternoon we went and did some SCUBA diving at Koloa Landing - slightly murky, high surf but some VERY big sea turtles. Tracy was snorkeling while Wendell and Sean did a dive to 31 feet for 24 minutes (short dive time due to bettling some INCREDIBLE surge. We had dinner at Pattaya restaurant (excellent Thai food.) We thought we'd be able to get an internet connection by using one of the many AOL CDs that Sean and I keep getting (he uses them as coasters, I have found that they make good, challenging targets on the skeet range.) The CDs that we brought with us were unusable due to accumulated beer and whiskey stains on Sean's CD and too many #8 shot sized "bad sectors" in mine. We explained our predicament to Demo Dave and he has been kind enough to hook us up with email, so you can email us at: demodave@hawaii.net
