HOBBIES
My primary hobbies are shooting and SCUBA diving. I also do (or have done) rock climbing, summer biathlon, role-playing games (both paper and live action.) I want to try downhill skiing, winter biathlon, skydiving and surfing. I have a number of pets and I spend a fair amount of time working on my home.
I am also one of the organizers for the annual Gordonia party, a birthday party where we do awful things to my friend Mike.
I normally drive a pickup truck, however I'm adding a second car to the collection, as my father is restoring a 1949 Buick Roadmaster hearse for me.
SCUBA
My friend Michael Parker manages the Scuba diving in Puget Sound web site.
I've done dives in Puget Sound, Turk and Caicos, Columbus Isle, the Great Barrier Reef and the island of Kauai. When I go tropical diving, I tease the locals about Seattle diving and tell them that that the water temperature in Puget Sound is 38 degrees in the winter, but it warms up to 50 in the summer.
My favorite dive spot is Edmonds Underwater Park. The currents for Edmonds can be calculated thus:
Take the Admiralty Currents and modify them thus:
Max Flood at Edmonds is 7 minutes after Max Flood at Admiralty and 0.10 times the max current.
Max Ebb at Edmonds is 19 minutes after Max eBB at Admiralty and 0.21 times the max current.
Slack (Flood begins) is 45 minutes after Flood begins at Admiralty.
Slack (Ebb begins) is 13 minutes after Ebb begins at Admiralty.
PETS
two Leonbergers, Angus and Cambria. Here are some pictures from the leonberger picnic on Sunday, August 24th.
Four Angora goats
Two Indian Runner ducks, four Pekin ducks and two African geese.

Two of the Indian Runners and two of the Pekins.
(The business of ferrets, are now on permanent loan to my friend Carolyn because I didn't want them getting eaten by the Leonbergers.
